# How to use threads?

**Threads are a way to seperate individual topics and discussions from each other within a channel.**

#### 1.Click on the "Thread" button

#### 2.Click on "New thread"

#### 3.Set the thread name and a starting message. 

You can add more detail in subsequent messages
