You may need to modify your download settings.

Open the Download Settings screen, find this:

You can download minecraft files in three ways

[Recommended]From Official Sources

It will download the official game resources from Mojang, which will be the fastest way.

From Fastest Available

HMCL-PE will automatically select the download method for you

[Not recommended]From Mirror

The mirror source is the MCBBS forum. MCBBS is a Minecraft forum in China, so it may take longer to download if you are not in China.

Unless you're in China, it's not recommended to download from this mirror.

If there is a problem with the download, here's what you should do

Uncheck the "Auto choose download mirror" box

Change your download source

You are best to test all three sources (the first two are recommended) until the problem is fixed.
